Business blogging 101

Posted by admin on Sep 14, 2009 in Uncategorized

I was thinking the other day that we, as a Internet enabled generation, spend a good deal of time online. Whether at home, at the local Wi-Fi hangout, or even on our phones, we spend a lot of time reading what others are saying about their business. Stop it! At least long enough to make sure your business is being seen too. Read more…

Keyword and Keyword Phrase Importance in Blog Posts

Posted by admin on Sep 4, 2009 in Blogging Goals

If you learn anything about blogging, let the first rule be to always use keyword and keyword phrases in all your posts. Without them your SEO (search engine optimization) efforts will fall short. Why?

People who search on specific subjects tend to search mostly by the words they think are relevant to the results they want to find. For example, If a person wants to purchase an RV (recreational vehicle, otherwise known as a motorhome), and wants to know what the price and/or ratings are, they might search using these keywords: Read more…

I'll show you how. Bookmark this site.

I

I have found that there are relatively few (that can be found anyway) companies that make it easy to monetize your blog. I haven’t found all of them yet, but will share with you those that I use.

Of course, not all blogs are the same, and not all will have the same result. However, if you are diligent in your efforts, analyze your traffic, and write regularly, you can make money from your blog too!

Ideas about turning your blog into a book?

Posted by admin on Jul 29, 2009 in make money blogging

Turn your blog into a book!

Turn your blog into a book!

I just saw an ad on Facebook that sent me to a site where they will create a softcover (or even just a PDF) of one’s blog. I thought this is a great idea, except for a few caveats.

First, if I was to do that, I would not be so spontaneous with my posts. In other words, I would actually design each post to be part of a different chapter in the book. For example, I would use the categories to organize the thoughts of one chapter. Each post would be a portion of the chapter, and I could write in whatever order I chose as long as I controlled the content through the categories (or chapters). Read more…

Using Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn to promote your blog

Social Media promotes Blog traffic

Social Media promotes Blog traffic

I know I am jumping a little ahead at this point, but there is a reason for it. I’ve discovered that I have been doing things a little backwards. Here’s what I mean:

I have been in the habit of setting up the blogs and trying to promote them before I really build a base in the social media sites. What I have now discovered to do is to build a following first, then build the blog. Read more…

What domain name should I use, if at all?

Posted by admin on Nov 11, 2008 in In the beginning

Well, there’s the million dollar question (well, maybe the thousand dollar question)! There are so many domain names already taken, but if you are creative, then you can find one that suits you.

And, do you really want to have your own domain. Well, I do because it adds credibility and professionalism to an otherwise meaningless endeavor (at first at least). Too, you can really make a mark with your blog, and it would be a shame if you become famous with your blog, but have a loser name. It can really enhance your market value and brand, if the domain name is catchy and easy to remember.

Why I decided to start a blog?

Posted by admin on Nov 10, 2008 in In the beginning

MAKE MONEY BLOGGING

MAKE MONEY BLOGGING

I decided to write a blog because I already run a number of web sites that bring in income, and I wanted to diversify the way I do it. You see, I would like to retire to Mexico and have an income that will let me be free to volunteer my time helping people. (I know… sappy, but it’s true).

Anyway, with this blog I will walk you through the same steps I have gone through. While I won’t get into the boring details of coding and design (that’s your personal choice to learn), I will focus on my thought process so you can see if it is the same as yours.

My successes can be your successes. My failure doesn’t have to touch you since you will read about it here first.

I hope you learn something. Most of all I hope you find out how to make money with a blog since we all would like the funds to live out our dreams. Like Pedro said, “I will make all your dreams come true.”

Enjoy…
